FAQS

Does waxing hurt?
Pain tolerance varies from person to person. Some clients may feel mild discomfort, while others experience none at all. To manage sensitivity, consider taking ibuprofen or a mild pain reliever about 30 - 60 minutes before your appointment. Over time, regular waxing can reduce sensitivity, as hair grows back finer and sparser.

Will my hair grow back thicker or darker?
No, waxing does not make hair grow back thicker or darker. Since hair is removed from the root, it typically grows back softer and finer. Over time, some clients may even notice a reduction in hair growth, although results vary by individual.

Can someone go into the treatment room with me?
To ensure the best experience, only the client and service provider are allowed in the treatment room during an appointment. However, clients under the age of 15 may have a parent or guardian present.

How long can I expect my wax to last?
You can enjoy smooth, hair-free skin for at least 1-2 weeks after your waxing appointment.

Can I get waxed if I’m taking any medication?
If you’re taking any medication, we recommend consulting your physician to determine if waxing is safe for you. Be sure to inform your technician about any medications you’re using. Waxing is not suitable for clients taking Accutane and is not recommended for those using skin-thinning acne treatments like Retin A, Renova, or Differin.

How should I prepare for my waxing appointment?
For the best results:

  • Clean and moisturize your skin regularly, and drink plenty of water to keep it hydrated and plump. This helps minimize irritation.

  • Exfoliate the area gently 24-48 hours before your appointment to remove dead skin cells.

  • Avoid moisturizing on the day of your appointment.

  • Refrain from consuming coffee or alcohol, as stimulants can increase skin sensitivity.

  • Ensure hair is at least a quarter-inch long (about the length of a grain of rice).

What should I avoid after waxing?
For 24-48 hours post-waxing, avoid:

  • Sun exposure

  • Hot showers, saunas, or steam rooms

  • Tight clothing

  • Activities that cause excessive sweating
Apply a soothing product recommended by your technician to keep the skin calm and hydrated.
